Remote online notarization (RON) streamlines the notarization process by enabling electronic document notarization from the comfort of your home or office. Using an electronic signature, the signer interacts with a commissioned notary through online audio-video technology and your computer or tablet. This innovation facilitates online signing and notarization, accessible to anyone with internet connectivity.
RON maintains the fundamental aspects of traditional paper-based notarization while introducing enhanced layers of technology and security. These elements contribute to heightened assurance and trust in the legitimacy of each notarization.
Presently, over 37 states have enacted RON legislation, enabling their notaries to conduct online notarizations. Interstate Recognition further bolsters this, bestowing legal validity on notarial acts performed in one state for use in another. When executed in accordance with the regulations of the notary's commissioning state, a properly completed RON by a notary public from a state with effective RON laws is deemed valid and acceptable in different states.

When sending documents overseas, they may either require an apostille or a certificate of authentication. Often times, the first step is to have your document notarized with Bascombe Notary Services.
Not all documents going overseas have to be notarized before being apostilled. Birth certificates and Death certificates, and Marriage Licenses don't require notarization before being processed for an apostille.
